For the third module's project, we had our first client-student interaction. A number of clients were presented to us and we could pick which client we would like to work for. I found IBM's brainstorming tool an interesting project.

Every year, IBM hosts a summer internship called Extreme Blue, where students from across the country are invited to brainstorm solutions for technological problems. our task as a project group was to invent technology that would attract more attention to this event as well as aid the brainstormers in the ideation phase of the brainstorming process.

Our solution was the NTX system which is a semi-smart environment with three screens, a microphone, speech recognition software and an intelligent algorithm. The system listens into the conversation, counts the number of times words are repeated after filtering out everyday words (like, for, but, and, the etc.). If such "priority words" are repeated more than thrice in two minutes, simultaneous tumblr and flickr image searches are run and the results are displayed and opposite screens in a dynamic collage while on the third screen, a screensaver style page with bouncing circles containing the image results are constantly colliding, simulating ideas being combined in order to inspire the users.
