Sound exiting? It is! This is my final project for the first module of my study. For me it took some time to love the idea of the project but after all I loved it. I hope you will enjoy my little preview of the video as well in my portfolio

On Thursday 9th of November we had the en exhibition for all the students to show there interactive video. It was nice to see all the effort come alive and see all the videos of your classmates. There were some amazing videos and the quality of all videos were high. Cool to see the start of what we are capable of and of what is coming.

Reviewing a site

Today for my Web Technology class I had to review a site of one of my classmates. It took some time and at first it is hard to look into the side and comment on everything. But after a little time, I enjoyed doing it and learned some things myself. The side I had to review was: visit the side of my classmate. One of the biggest things I got out of looking at the other side was that I probably should change my layout of the blogs. Now you have all the blog after each other but it would be better if you make them smaller and put in a read more. So you see more blogs at ones. I also hadn’t thought about the people who look really closely to sites. I am not like that so I almost forgot but you want everyone to enjoy your site. So that is something I am going to look at while improving my site.

Looking at the code of the blog page of this side you see that she has made the site with WordPress and used the Astrid theme. Besides that, she used a google fonts. Most of the code is based on the Astrid theme. For everything is a connection made with the theme. The blogs are created in different containers which form the blocks on the side. You want to look for yourself? When you’re on the site go to view and choose view source.

Programming 2.0

I told you before I like programming. So that is where I want to talk about a little more. In particular the stylesheet for my website. The stylesheet is meant for the design of your website. So in this file you tell the program which font and which colour you want the background to be. My style sheet is quite big. I designed my background, navigation, font, layout of my side and the timeline in my stylesheet. This is a part of that code:

I have done this step by step, starting with the layout and the font. Later I made the navigation, I did this my trying it out in another file and then but it in my original file. I did the same for the timeline. The background took some more time because I started with just the blue colour and edited later the photos. First I had the photos on the foreground but by putting them on the background I did not have to keep on putting photos in my code.

The navigation and timeline also took some more time but I had help from the internet. I looked at the standard code for those two and changed it to the way I liked it and matched the theme of my site.

Guess who has a new portfolio item! This time it is not a product but a activity that took a lot of time and planning. It is something I really enjoyed and I am really proud of.

I am part of a camp comity of my sports club. Where I have at this point organised two camps and made a small start on the third. More information

We Create Identity Project

For my study we are creating an interactive video. It is now week 4 and we are going well. We have our video idea sketched out, the script is almost done and the whole planning is done. These week we start with looking at our locations and start filming. Then we start editing on the 9th of October and start programming on the 12th of October. I think we have an amazing team were everyone has her own potentials and uses these. I am going to work on the programming for example. I choose to do this because I already know quite some things about programming and I like doing it.

If we stick to our planning we will be finished by the 31st of October, 5 days before the actual deadline. When we have something we can actually show I will show it in my portfolio and when the video is finished I will definitely show you everything.

Hello guys! I finally posted my first portfolio item. It is about an app I created to help students learn subjects for computer science. This is one of the biggest projects I ever did, and the one I enjoyed most. I hope you enjoy it as well, more information.

Update about designing my own site

I still have trouble deciding what I want to do with the design of my site. I want something cool and original but it also should be clean and minimalistic.

There are a few things I have to look at. These are the white block around the my work tab which is not disappearing; the photos on the right side on the home page and project pages should be repeating itself as long as the pages is and the photos on the right side should always be fully showed not only on full screen.

Then there is the question if I keep using html-code or if I am going to use WordPress for my side. WordPress is easier and looks cleaner, but I already have quite some code in html and like doing the coding.

Furthermore are just the designing possibilities. As I said I want something original and creative but also clean and minimalistic. There are so many options and a few I sketched out. I am not entirely sure what I am going to do. But for now I stay with a simple design in blueish colours with the tabs at the top and photos on the right side.

GOGBOT

I went to the GOGBOT festival on Friday the 8th of September. It was not for that long, I think around one hour. So later I found out I missed some things. The thing is, I thought we had everything because we did not see anything else. Never the less I enjoyed the trip. There were some pretty cool things to see. For example: there was this installation of pointless superpowers. I thought it was hilarious. But there were also serious constructions. For example the self growing spaceship. So I found GOGBOT cool but not the best thing ever.

Currently doing

Currently I am working on two things. One: starting up with my study Creative Technology and two: organising the last few things for a sportscamp. Both are pritty exiting. For Creative Technology does this mean: following classes and starting up with my first big project. For the sports camp does this mean: finishing with making the activities and having one last talk about the programme for the weekend.

Programming

Ever thought about programming your own website? No?! you really should try it sometime. I really enjoyed making this website. The thing is it sounds really hard but it isn't. I think that it is a nice activity which you can do at all time. You are bored? Go programming. You have a night off? Go programming. Believe me, it is fun! And the results are amazing.
