BoxBlox

Nowadays, children spend more and more time behind their screens, which creates a lack of interaction with the real world. Also, the educational toys that should lead the children away from their tablets are often not experienced as fun.
We at BoxBlox create an experience that is simple, educational, but above all fun. The toolkit includes components with which electrical toys can be built, like cars or animals. The children can create their own toys by building a frame, attaching their own drawings to it and making them come alive with electrical components, such as motors and lights. Our companion app can be used to interact with their creation, or to look at examples. In the end, these toys will contribute to the child’s creativity, spatial cognition, and problem-solving skills.
There are already a lot of different toy companies that try to educate children from an early age. What separates our toys from theirs is that ours has an emphasis on simplicity, fun, and customization. We want the experience to be so enjoyable, that the children themselves want to learn more about it.
You can support us and our educational toys through our Kickstarter campaign. The raised funds will be spent on developing the first sets of our toys. At BoxBlox, we want learning to be a fun experience for everyone.
The idea for BoxBlox was created for the module Innovation and Entreperneurship. The product does not (yet) exist, but we did our best to develop a business plan and (fake) crowdfunding campaign for the product. The sketches were made by Carlijn Rendering.
