CTRL WHY

CTRL whY consists of a laboratory in which the pain and emotion of intelligent hardware is being tested by fictional scientists. Visitors can interact with the intallation by inflicting pain on laptops, phones and computer mice, on which the hardware reacts as if it's feeling pain. It is up to the visitor to believe or not if the intelligent computers can actually experience emotions.

This project was designed and built by seven Creative Technologists, including me. The art installation won the prize for the most impact on the CreaTe End Exhibition and won the CreaTe Award on the Gogbot Festival. The installation relies on five Arduinos and a lot of disfunctioning hardware, such as old keyboards, computer mice and a telephone. (created in June 2018)
