LibraTree

In the third module of Creative Technology we had to do an ideation project. We had to work with an external client, coming up with a solution to their problem. Together with my project group, I worked for Rijnbrink in collaboration with de Bibliotheek West-Achterhoek. The problem at hand was the lack of enough librarians to man every library, especially the smaller ones. To "replace" the librarian, we thought of a tree containing all information about the library in the form of an electronical system. Leaf shaped lamps in the branches will light up when a book or place in the library is chosen and will lead visitors towards their indicated location. The tree also contains other features, like a sliding out keyboard when people pass by and a scanner for library cards. If visitors still get lost while using the tree, they also have the opportunity to call a central librarian. This way, the tree can help anyone find their way through the library.
