Module 2: Smart Environments

A short overview of my work for module 2

Short summary of module 2

I'd like to just start of with a short summary off all I've done this module. This module was more focused on the electrical engineering front rather than just a intro into the techinical world as the first module was. This was achieved by courses like sound and circuits which focused on sound generation and the physics behind it, as well as the circuits part which was fully focused on the workings and building of electrical circuits. Then we had mathematics and modeling which was indeed mostly focused on the modeling part which was often used in the work for sound and circuits and physical computing. Programming and Physical Computing was the programming course for this module, but instead of solely focusing on the programming part this course also had hands on programming implemented via the physical systems part. This meant that we worked with an arduino to actually make our programming come to live. Furthermore we had sketching which was more design focused and as such was quite different from all the other courses so far. The module project this time was to try and invent something that could be used in a smart city or environment, which as such also happens to be the title of this module. We came up with a 'smart artwork' which meant that we made an artwork that was powered by solar energy and gave information about all the solar energy gains thoughout the city. For professional development I didn't do anything which can be clearly shown since I exercised for my professional development this module. Even now I still exercise 4 times a week to keep this up and it has helped me quite a lot since it makes me feel at ease and clears my mind.
