This project is still one of my favorates. Mainly because you produce a tangiable object that actually does
something "useful".
The project revolves around building an amplifier using a 10 Volt rail and transistors. In our case, this is
done by using a class A amplifier to
generate a 8V peak to peak from the low energy input audio. Thereafter, amplifying the current using a
AB-class amplifier. Here, i have solely designed the entire
A-class part and helped to build the AB-class as well. Having done most of the designing (A-class) using
LT-spice in a trail and error fashion the SSEQ and biasing calculations where
still to be done. This wasnt easy as I had devoloped quite an unconventional way of amplifiying the signal.
Using 2 CCC-CEC combinations 100mV input is converted to
an 8V peak to peak signal. In the end i did manage to calculate everything through and happened to learn a lot
about Bipolar Junction Transistors, and their impact on a circuit.
I have done this project with Tom Brunning and Emilio cuertez in order to finish Module 3 of Electrical
Engineering on the University of twente.
In this project me, Tom and Emilio made a FM radio transmitter that had a range of about 100m. This was done
using an harmonic oscillator @107Mhz and a
varicap which changed the oscillating frequency by about 40kHz. This project started of as a real struggle since
these high frequencies come with
all kinds of paracitic charactaristics. This meant that even a piece of wire could be considered as an inductor.
However, we did get it to work and it was
worth it. It is kind of surreal that when you take a random standard radio it plays your music if you tune into
the right channel. The final product is displayed
next to this post.

The project assignment of Creative Technology module one was to make an interactive video with a group of 5
people. The main objective of this project was to
introduce the students to project work and all its difficulties. We were lucky to have quite a decent team.
Although we did start a bit late on the project as we
didn't know we had so little time. This put our teamwork to the test, and in my opinion we prevailed. We ended
up ditching 2 storylines from our script, but the others
turned out rather well. The protagonist of our story was a slightly chizophrenic boy named Thomas. Thomas was
mostly antagonized by his narrator which he was introduced to
in the start of the movie. The users could interact with the movie by making certain choices. Thomas dies on
multiple storylines, but also finds his true love in one of them.
Making this film was a fun process, though quite stressful. Although the end result isnt as good and with as
much content as we had initially planned, I am proud of what
we managed to do within our limited time. I do not think we chose the easiest path by making a movie with
multiple genres depending on the choices you make, but we learned
a lot from doing it.
I have done this project with group Yankee, consisting of: Mark, Marc, Paul, Reinier and me.
