Leadership has two rules. #1: It’s not about you; #2 It’s only about you. The challenge of leadership
is defeating your own ego. It is about being who you are and knowing your strengths and weaknesses
to understand others before guiding them. Someone does not have to work for you but must work with
you.
But how do you defeat your own ego. You need to have the courage to be authentic, but you can’t get
to the courage without walking through vulnerability. When you show you are vulnerable and authentic
you have defeated your ego and you will thrive.

Workshops module 2
The workshops this module where like the first module things I am already familiar with, due to
IT(informatica) and Research and Design(Onderzoek en Ontwerpen(Technasium)) I had during my previous
years at school. I would rather have some workshops about hardware instead of software. For
example how to use the laser cutter to cut wood or something similar.

Guest lectures module 2
The subject of the first guest lecture was
networks. First he talked about his early Twente years and the development of networks and the
world wide web and its predecessors..., but the most
important subject was the trade wars between
China and the US and the influence on the development of the 5G network.
There are three major players when it comes to 5G: Nokia, Ericson and Huawei. Huawei has
invested the most in 5G and can produce the best hardware at the lowest price, but Huawei is a
Chinese company, so what should you do in a situation like this.
I was already interested in this subject and their was also a recent video made by Arjen Lubach
about this which problem a lot of countries have to deal with.
The main issue is the software the companies use. There are all proprietary for their own
hardware unlike computers and smartphones which is based on existing hardware and any software
you would like, but because the hardware for creating 5G networks isn’t based on a standard
countries have to chose to have a better and cheaper network with Chinese software and the
possible dangers of Chinese using is for bad purposes or pay more money for worse network, but
be certain that it is safe.
The second guest lecture didn’t really have a clear subject. Edwin was just telling us about his
life and some robots and other stuff he developed, but the most of already knew most of this,
because of an earlier guest lecture during the kick-in.
I really liked the first lecture, but the other students had mixed feelings about it because the
little amount of people interested about networks. This subject isn’t something I am normally
interested in, but because of the media attention and it having a large influence on
smartphones, which is an industry which I am interested in, I still enjoyed it, but it isn’t
something I am further going to explore.
The second lecture showed Edwin his amazing robot building skills which everyone likes. He also
appeared on ‘De Proefkoijnen’(13-1-2020), which I thought was a nice coincidence. Building your
own robots is definitely something which fits the create program and I hope to also do in the
future. It was just a pity is was mostly the same as the guest lecture he gave during the
kick-in.

Final module expo
5 November we had the final module expo. During the expo posters made during Visual Comminucation
were showed on
the walls, processing final project and websites... where showed on laptops and the interactive
video's
were displayed. During the expo you could vote for the best interactive video. We, team Charlie,
won. We received a price and they displayed our video on the big screen. If you want to see a

Peer review
I reviewed a website for this weeks assignment. Click here to go
to the portfolio of the site I reviewed. The site I reviewed was made with Wordpress.... I haven't used Wordpress so it's fun to see a totally
different site when compared to my website. I took a detailed look at the website I reviewd and
because of that I could compare it with my own website and change my website accordingly and
give tips to my peer. Some things I saw on the website I reviewed I've
added to my own site and their are also things I plan to add in the future.
The whole site in general is ceated with WordPress 5.2.4 and themed with BlogBell from
Sensational Theme, Javascript, Jquery and PHP are also used for thing such as the contact form.
To create the blog page the and the most
of the site the body consists of 3 rows and 1 the on on the right is always in use for thing
like the search bar. Above the body an Image is placed with the name of the page floating on top
of it, the images aren't related to the subjects yet. Furthermore the blog page does only
consist out of posts with links and links and a searchbar on the standard right side which is
visible on muliple pages.

How I realized my personal design
My website is made and designed from scratch. To give my site a personal touch I firstly gave my site
a color scheme and secondly my logo in the top left of the page.... To create my color
scheme I used a turqoise color which is always visible in my navbar in the top-left logo and
when you hover. I also added a turqoise box-schadow to the boxes which contain content.
Secondly I added a logo of my alias in the top-left, which is decorated completely different
in comparising with the navbar in general. It is clickable and it will take you to the homepage.

Progress Video Project of We Create Identity
Our team has already been busy creating a plot for our movie. In our movie their is an angry AI
who is kidnapping people for research.... If you want
help the kidnapped person break free some chosen people who don't know each other have to
do some challenges. If they fail bad thing will happen for them and the kidnapped person!
The thema of our movie is moody and mysterious. We're still busy finalising the plot and
all the different characters, but we already managed to get our hand on some high-grade
video hardware including a drone.

Website design
My website will contain 4 sections: Home, Portfolio, Blog and About. I have already switched to
an responsive design which had three different display modes for desktop..., tablet and
smartphone
use. My homepage will have a welcome message and an image with an effect when opening. I want
to create a portfolio which can be filtered. I want to add a timeline to my blog and something
special on my about page. I did already start applying the base design to my website but I am
not yet done.

Gogbot visit
In this post I'll tell you something about my favorite and least favorite instaltion at
the Gogbot festival.... Favourite installation: Tom Simba – Wok Rotterdam
I liked this installation the most because of the receipt that showed everything being used to
create this installation and the price. It illustrates the accessibility of creating artworks
because everyone can buy these products and create this fountain if they would like to. I like
how you can look at a fountain for a long time without being bored, therefor they had placed a
bench next to the fountain just to admire its beauty. The location also perfectly suited the
fountain because of the incidence of light and a bar to get drinks within ten meters.
Jesus Canuto Iglesias – KABKV Rotterdam
This installation consist if vibrating metal plates. The metal installation had to symbolize the
dead. The vibration resulted in a creepy and annoying sound which suited the theme but after a
couple of minutes it became annoying and I wanted to leave the room. I think it shouldn’t be
annoying to look at an installation instead it should be enjoying. That’s why this installation
irritated me the most.
To conclude I like the overall atmosphere at the Gogbot festival and I will probably go again
next year.

My first day at University of Twente
First day at university we had began with an introduction to CreaTe followed with a lecture
about programming and at the end a lecture about computer science and... engineering. It was kind boring because
we only had lectures that day and everyone
was sick and tired from the kick-in which was really fun though. Luckily most of us have already
found some new friend during the kick-in to chill with in our free time.
