This week’s assignment is to review someone else’s Portfolio by pointing out strengths and weaknesses, for which I reviewed Max van Driel’s website. In order to do so we were handed a webform, where it is possible to rate the website */5 stars for the following points:

• General information
• Design
• Content
• Function
• Connection

Looking at the source of the website, the site was created using WordPress. The theme used is called Nisarg, without the use of a gallery or any plugins, so it seems. 

The design and content of the site were nice, the site looks great and the creator surely put a lot of effort in the writing of blogposts. Sadly, however, there was no real introductory page or any page about the creator himself, so the other three points did not get a very high rating. Only the ‘home’ and ‘portfolio’ tab actually lead to a page with content on it, the ‘blog’ and ‘ongoing projects’ tab do not.

But overall the site does look nice and has good content on it, so I believe that with some simple adjustments and different placing of the content, the site could become even more awesome 🙂

Reviewing the site made me realise my site does not really have an introductory page either. The writing also inspires me to write in a more ‘blog’ type of way, instead of just stating information. So that could be something to work on 🙂
