Olaf Tempelman

A Short Introduction

Hi, I’m Olaf and this is my website! This year I started studying Creative Technology at the University of Twente. Before I came here, I lived in Groningen and this is also where I started and finished high school. Right now I am 18 years old and because I’m studying in Enschede, I’m also living here (which is not that weird I suppose).

So besides that I’m 18 years old and that I’m from Groningen, there are of course other things to tell about me. I am planning on joining Euros, which is the rowing club in Enschede. Perhaps I’m even going to try to join the highest league in rowing where you have to train 8 times a week and where you regularly compete against other rowing clubs. But that’s not completely decided cause I first have to see if rowing really is something for me. Besides rowing now, I don’t really have any other hobbies besides the usual: Netflix and beer. But I’m actively searching so if the person reading this has any suggestions, please contact me (no idea how cause I haven’t put contact info on this site, but be creative). My life up until now has been quite normal I think. I was born in Arnhem but moved away from there to Doetinchem at a very young age. When I was about 7, I moved again to a small village and a year after that again to another small village near Groningen. And that is where my parents still live now. My high school was a pretty artistic high school where we also had classes that taught us woodworking and stuff like that. Perhaps this triggered me to pick a more creative study but I don’t know that for sure and if I wanted to know that for sure, I would’ve picked a study like psychology. Another nice little fact about me is that I’m 2,07 metres tall. Something that has it’s advantages and it’s disadvantages.

Up until now I really like studying CreaTe. Of course it’s all still very new to me (programming, web development, etc.) and perhaps that’s why I’m liking it (new things are always more fun), but I honestly think that this is really the right study for me. The course I like the most is Web Technology, where we have to build our own portfolio website. The idea of typing some cryptic phrases which somehow get turned into a nice looking website just really speaks to me.

And I think that’s me. On this website you will also find a blog and my portfolio which will be filled more over time so come back sometime to see what has changed!
