Gogbot visit:

On 08-09-16 I went to the Gogbot festival located at the Oude markt. Right at the start I was immediately encountered by vehicles which in my opinion were based of the movies Mad Max, but later appeared to be vehicles that were inspired by a future zombie apocalypse. Despite being a electric/technology festival the opening of the festival had some technical difficulties with for example projecting images/videos on a big screen. However the scenery and evironment made it like a good festival ambiance. Spread all over the place were installations with different techniques like electricity and music. The most interesting construction was the Entropia installation. It was a sphere shaped tent with in the middle a construction of lights (see image right) and music installation all around the tent. If you suffered from epilepsy then this piece of art would not be advisory, because of the flickering lights. With the use of lights and sounds it made it look like you were at a different location, like a metrostation or next to an airplane. The sounds and lights were perfectly synchronised to create the effect of the two being connect to each other. The floor was made with a certain material and placed that you could feel it vibrating because of the sounds, which made the effect even more overwhelming. For your comfort you could sit on a huge pillow to experience the show better. Negative point about the show was the time, which was too long to still enjoy it 100%. The construction which irritated me the most was a sphere hung up in the church (see image below). Besides having a illuminated wave pattern and high pitched music there was nothing special about it on first sight. It might have been an amazing project, but there was not any information about it to know if it was more than just a sphere. Togheter with the high pitched sounds it made it the most irritating construction. Unfortunately there were only five constructions to watch, which was kind of dissapointing.
