First Level

The first level will be a racing level. Although we do not have a storyline for the race, we do have some ideas. More on this later.

We already had some models for cars and a track to build scripts for the race. The cars are able to drive, but they have no interaction with other objects in the world and multiple cars do not work at the same time, atleast for now.

For another project, we already had the layout of a circuit and a landscape. We imported this to Unity and started scripting. You can accelerate, turn and brake. The wheels rotate when driving relative to the speed of the car.

For the story in this level, we are still debating several options.

  • A race through time
    • You start the race in the first era of computers. You drive slow and through a citythat fits the timeframe.
    • After a while your car gets upgraded. Your surroundings get more modern and you will drive faster.
    • This cycle happens a few more times until you get to the finish.
  • Collecting
    • During the race, you have to collect parts to build a quantum computer.
  • A race through tech
    • Instead of a city or circuit like we have in real life, we would make a route through technological items.
    • This idea fits more with the overal line of the game, but will take more time to build and implement.
