Regentoren project

In april 2019, I was approached by the module coordinator of that time. She asked me if I could make a 3D animation of de Regentoren project.

De Regentoren is a system of smart buffers that is part of the Regentoren network. The network knows when rainfall is about to happen and sends out a signal to empty all the smart Regentoren buffer units. The idea is; when many households in the city of Enschede have such a buffer in the garden,  the sewers would not overflow.

Moreover, this system can be used to prevent the drastic reduction of the local groundwater level. Too dry ground negatively impacts flora and fauna, not to forget that houses and complexes start tearing up and sinking very slowly in the ground.

As an owner of a buffer unit, you can use its water to water the plants, clean your windows and manage the garden.

Cinematic of Enschede

On one afternoon, I tested a Zhiyun gimbal in Enschede. The video has been directed, shot and edited by me. To make it all complete, I composed and recorded a piece of piano music. At the beginning, the 3D ornament was made in Cinema4D.

hydrOsave

This video is the work of a group of students from the minor ‘Serious Gaming’. The voice-over of the video is performed by me. HydrOsave is a small game in which the player learns about the plastic in the ocean and can remove some virtual plastic of the ocean in the game.

Junior in the forest

This purple guy is my first animated character I created. The program I used was Cinema 4D. To learn the animation workflow of C4D, Eyedesign made a good video tutorial.

Marble Track

This marble track is also created Cinema4D. It uses the built-in physics of C4D.

Our final assignment of module 1 is an interactive video. In this video, you are a CEO and your past will affect your near future. You will be kidnapped because you scammed a lot of people. You, as a viewer, can decide what happens next. Will you stay seated or will you try to pick the lock of the door? It is all up to you!
